Aloysius A. Attah
President & CEO
Aloysius (Al) A. Attah, P.E., EAC, CPIM, M.ASCE, NSPE founded MACVAL Associates, LLC to provide world class engineering, management, and construction services to both private and public sectors. He has over thirty years of progressive engineering and management experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, and construction industries. He provides strategic guidance for the firm and also oversees the business operations and technical initiatives of the firm. Prior to establishing MACVAL Associates LLC, he spent nine years as a managing partner at VAS Engineering & Construction, LLC. He also spent seventeen years with the Boeing Company holding various engineering and management positions in support of 737, 747, 757, 767, and 777 airplane programs. While at Boeing, he applied Lean Engineering techniques to several projects resulting in millions of dollars in cost avoidance and cost savings.
Al has also taught engineering, management, and construction courses at various universities since 1995. He currently teaches construction engineering technology courses at the University of North Texas. Prior to joining the University of North Texas, he taught aerospace / engineering management courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and statistics / operations management courses at DeVry University. He was also an engineering guest lecturer at Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1996.
Al earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton, Dayton Ohio, and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is also a licensed / registered Professional Engineer (PE). Al holds two other professional designations namely: CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) from APICS - The Association for Operations Management, and EAC (Environmental Assessment Consultant) from the National Society of Environmental Consultants. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE). He is also a member of Board of Directors in both the Construction Division and Industry Advisory Board (IAB) of IIE. He has served as conference track Chair for the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He currently serves as speaker for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in promoting the value of Professional Engineering license. Al was a past president of IIE - Dallas, and past chairman of Professional Engineers in Industry - DFW Mid Cities chapter of TSPE. Among his numerous recognitions and honors are Industrial Engineer of the Year award, Outstanding Performance awards from Boeing, University Teaching awards, and Community Service awards.
